Company Profile
There are different theories about the origin of the word Sabour. One theory is that “Sabour” is a distorted form of ‘Sahor’. In a book, “Boudh-DharmKeSandeshvahak” compiled by Sri NagendraNath and published by Jan SamparkVibhag, Bihar, it is reported that ‘Sahor’ was a province in the eastern side of Bharat. The great Budhist “Shantrakshit” was born in ‘Sahor’province. ‘Sahor’ is the same province where great AcharyaDipankarSreegyan and Atisha were born who later went to Tibet. SahorPargana of Bhagalpur and SahorKrishi farm are still there. Another name of this Pradesh was ‘Bhangal’ or ‘Bhagal’. The present Bhagalpur is named after this province “Bhagal’. In the province of ‘Sahor’ or ‘Bhagal’, King Dev Pal of Palvansheeya, constructed a Vihar on the southern bank of river Ganga, which was known as Vikramshila. Shantrakshit of Sahor King family was born in 684 A.D. The author citing the Tibetian literature says that ‘Sahor’ was a country in the east of Bharat. Its capital was ‘Bhangalpur’ which is today known as Bhagalpur. “Sahor” gradually became Sabour.
